Precast concrete modules made it possible to quickly and economically erect this 960-cell high-rise detention facility. The building features two cell towers atop a two-story base that houses administrative, booking, holding and medical care areas.
As Specialty Engineer, CEG designed and detailed approximately 8,600 precast concrete pieces to make up the total structure. Each cell is comprised of a three-dimensional modular unit which is then stacked, 15 modules high, to create the detention towers. Erection took only 12 months.
This total precast concrete facility is one of the tallest structures of modular precast concrete cells in the United States.
